The R&D project "Secure GenAI for Spatial Planning"
The R&D project "Use of secure generative artificial intelligence for building modern spatial information systems for spatial planning" is being carried out under the FENG 2021-2027 program. The Institute is implementing the project titled "Use of secure generative artificial intelligence for building modern spatial information systems for spatial planning" within the framework of the European Funds for a Modern Economy 2021-2027 program (FENG), co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund based on the funding agreement with the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP).
The project aims to develop an innovative technology based on secure artificial intelligence that enables complex analyses of spatial and descriptive data from multiple diverse sources through commands issued in natural language. The project is intended to streamline the process of spatial planning, technical infrastructure management, and strategic decision-making by public administration, companies and institutions engaged in spatial planning, and enterprises managing spatially extensive and complex technical infrastructure. The technology being developed will not only make it possible to ask questions in natural language but also to receive answers in the form of text, maps, and visualizations — making planning processes more efficient and allowing people to focus on the creative aspect of their work while leaving the most tedious tasks to the machines.
The project envisages the creation of a tool that supports decision-making in both public administration and the private sector by providing access to advanced spatial analyses.

The R&D project "e-services + AI"
The R&D project "e-services + AI: Using natural language communication to improve the quality and accessibility of e-services and spatial data" is being carried out under the FENG 2021-2027 program. The Institute is implementing the project titled "e-services + AI: Using natural language communication to improve the quality and accessibility of e-services and spatial data" within the framework of the European Funds for a Modern Economy 2021-2027 program (FENG), co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund based on the funding agreement with the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP).
The project aims to develop an innovative technology that enables intuitive natural language communication with geoinformation e-services, significantly improving their accessibility and quality and making it easier for both citizens and public officials to obtain key information and efficiently handle matters related to spatial management.
The proposed innovative technology will have a positive impact on the quality of life of citizens and contribute to greater social inclusion by increasing the accessibility and ease of use of e-services and spatial data available on the market. Citizens handling official matters will be the main beneficiaries of the innovation, whose essence is to enable the use of e-services and spatial data in the way most natural to humans — in natural language. Currently, using e-service portals requires specialist knowledge and familiarity with expert terminology, which makes it difficult — and for many people even impossible — to take advantage of their tools and capabilities. As a result, many people visit public offices in person (spending several hours) instead of using e-services (which could take as little as 15 minutes). Simple, natural communication applied to existing service platforms will improve the quality of life of citizens and reduce exclusion from the use of e-services. It will also reduce the workload of public offices, which should speed up many procedures.

The R&D project "TeleCyfro"
The R&D project "TeleCyfro" is being carried out under the POIR 2014-2020 program. The Institute is implementing the project titled "TeleCyfro - Development of methods for extracting information from unstructured engineering documents using artificial intelligence in remote work environment" within the framework of Sub-measure 1.1.1 of the Operational Program Smart Growth 2014-2020, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund based on the funding agreement with the National Centre for Research and Development.
The project aims to develop algorithms utilizing artificial intelligence to automate the process of converting analog documents into digital format, thereby reducing the need for hardware infrastructure and human resources. The project's outcome will be a set of tools that reduce costs and time required for document processing while maximizing efficiency. Information extraction from textual documents along with their context, detection, and vectorization of elements on maps with spatial referencing, and OCR for handwritten text are just a few items on the list of algorithms planned for implementation.

The R&D project "Construction of a Real Estate Database"
The R&D project "Construction of a Real Estate Database" was implemented under the POIR 2014-2020 program. The Institute carried out the project titled "Construction of a Knowledge Base on Real Estate" within Action 1.1: R&D Projects of Enterprises of the Operational Program Smart Growth 2014-2020, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund based on the funding agreement with the National Centre for Research and Development.
The main goal of the project was to develop methods for automatic acquisition, enrichment, processing, integration, analysis, and acquisition of spatial data, both open and commercial, necessary for the implementation of the Real Estate Knowledge Base. The developed database serves as a basis for providing a range of innovative services for businesses and citizens. These services include generating comprehensive online reports on real estate, containing, among other things, the property value and its forecast over time, as well as links to external online resources containing additional information about the real estate.

The R&D project was implemented as part of the Innovative Economy Operational Programme 2007-2013.
The R&D project was implemented as part of the Innovative Economy Operational Programme 2007-2013. From 2014 to 2016, the Institute, in collaboration with the Warsaw University of Technology and Integraph Polska Sp. z o.o., participated in the project entitled "Development and implementation of innovative GeoMedia Enterprise Intelligence technology for multi-criteria analysis of spatial data in desktop and web-based tool environment" under Action 1.4: Support for purposeful projects (for industrial research or development work) based on the funding agreement with the National Centre for Research and Development.
The main goal of the project was to commercialize scientific research in the use of spatial statistics and exploratory analysis of spatial data (spatial data mining) for spatial information analysis to optimize business decision-making. The Institute was responsible for tasks related to the creation of geospatial semantic tools, resulting in the development of the flagship prototype product of the Institute - the Semantic Components software.
